Santa Barbara, with its unique mediterranean climate, is a place of rich horticultural diversity. The Horticulture Consortium of Santa Barbara was formed in 1993 in order to share this wealth, and to promote the extensive range of horticultural expertise and interest in the great Santa Barbara area.

Goals
The goal of the Horticulture Consortium of Santa Barbara is to enhance local horticulture through three areas of effort:

Community education
Service to member organizations and individuals
Community enhancement projects

Membership
Membership is open to any organization or individual interested in helping to advance the goals of the Consortium. The current membership includes public agencies, non-profit organizations, professional and trade associations, garden clubs, and individuals.

Annual Membership Fee:

Student $10.00
Individual $20.00
Organization $30.00

Volunteer Opportunities
There are many non-profit member organizations that offer volunteer opportunities. These include tasks such as gardening, aiding educators, clerical work and training as a garden docent. Donations
The Horticulture Consortium accepts donations under the auspices of the PARC Foundation, a 501c3 organization. Donations are tax deductible and will be used to fund Consortium sponsored activities and projects.

Meetings
The Consortium meets on the third Thursday of every other month. Meetings take place at various sites of horticultural interest and often include a tour of the facility.

Publications
The Consortium publishes Santa Barbara Seasons, a guide to horticultural sites and events. Included are gardening tips, feature articles, and a map to local horticultural features.
