Festivities

Please bring a dish to share (a salad, an entree, a dessert, etc). Those wishing to barbeque can use the barbeque pit maintained by the event committee. SBAS will furnish non-alcoholic drinks and hot coals in the barbecue pit.

BE GREEN: Bring your own utensils!

This is our way of saying thank you for all your support for SBAS programs, field trips, conservation efforts and other events. In the last fifteen years there has been a surprising increase in the number of people involved in SBAS's activities. Preservation, restoration and conservation of habitat along with increased awareness of birds and other wildlife could not happen without you! Your efforts, dedication and enthusiasm have made it all possible.

We will have a brief program and conduct our annual Board of Directors election.

Directions to Toro Canyon Park

Toro Canyon Park Toro Canyon Park Toro Canyon Park

Toro Canyon Park is located in the foothills behind Summerland in Montecito. From North or South, take the 101 freeway to the Padaro Lane offramp in Summerland. (Note that if you are coming from the south, this is NOT the Padaro Lane/Santa Claus offramp!) From the offramp, turn toward the mountains, then right onto the frontage road, Via Real. In less than a mile, turn left onto Toro Canyon Rd. Follow Toro Canyon about three miles until it makes a sharp left turn and becomes East Valley Rd. At that point you turn right. There is a sign at this intersection for Toro Canyon Park. Follow this access road a little over a mile. The entrance to the park is on the left. There is ample parking, but it is always more GREEN to carpool. We will be in Area 4.
