Enter the Camp Internet Reading Olympics
February 5th -28th Camp Internet is hosting a Reading Olympics competition! Along with the amazing muscular feats going on in the sports Olympics, our Campers are invited to stretch the limits of their brains and prepare great book reports!
To enter, prepare book report word documents on books read since Fall 2001, or on e-books (articles, stories, or chapters) read on Camp Internet, and submit your class entries in the Field Reports / Campwide report room February 5-28th. http://chat.rain.org/cgi-bin/nph-camp01-fr
The top 36 classrooms that submit the most reports in the
Reading Olympics will receive a 'Silver Medal' to
reward their great work!
Book reports can be of any length over 50 words. Create paragraph breaks by using ………… Scanned images of the book cover, from the online version, or student illustrations can be added by the teacher when the report is posted. Please prepare the written reports first as a word document and then copy / paste into the Field Report / Campwide Winter Reading Olympic room.
All classes are invited and will receive a certificate of participation. BE SURE to include student first name, TEACHERS NAME and SCHOOL in the Your Handle box before posting to make authorship clear.

Teachers - Time to Post those FIELD REPORTS - all of the 250 Camp teachers this year have now completed Day One and Day Two training and are ready to post their FIELD REPORTS. Please post field reports from your field day - first in the Teachers Web Field Report Workroom for practice, and then move the same report over to the PUBLIC FIELD REPORTS / Teacher Training Room. Each cycle of Teacher Field Reports are now being added to the main Field Reports Showcase at http://www.rain.org/campinternet/fieldreports/
NEW FOR FEBRUARY - Teachers have a NEW Online Learning Workshop in the Teacher's Web - How to Create your OWN Internet DIG! This workshop is required for all Camp teachers and will be open during February to help you create your own DIG. Then March - April, we will open a special room where you can reserve dates for posting YOUR Dig so your students can enjoy trying out the research questions you have created.
