Campwide Briefing November 26-30
LIVE EVENTS for this week all Campers invited to join in!
Tuesday the 27th we have a special guest, Trail Guide Jan Timbrook, Curator of Ethnography at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Jan will be sharing news of the museums recent acquisition of rare Chumash baskets that now makes their collection the largest Chumash basket collection in the world. She is also going to tell us how the baskets are made, and share commonalities between Indian Basketmakers from across the continent. What ever your track, she will be sharing information relevant to your studies. Please join us, 10am, in the TRAILG GUIDE / CAMPWIDE Chat Room. Or send questions in advance to camp@campinternet.net.
Thursday Night is our November Family Night open to Camp students, families and friends. Theme is ONCE in a BLUE MOON. An Internet Dig is planned, a set of star charts will be available to help families identify the constellations, Camp staff will be online to answer parents inquiries, and families are invited to post a WE FOUND IT in the chat room everyone will be able to see the blue moon or report on a constellation.
To Help out teachers prepare for this event if they are hosting an open house in their classroom, there is a teacher prep guideline in the TRAIL GUIDE CHAT / CAMPWIDE chat room through Wednesday night. Families are welcome to join us from home or from any public access computer.

Garden time get bulbs in the ground we invite each garden classroom to get bulbs planted and to enjoy the bulb history online. You also are invited to join in the live Basket chat this week to learn about the plants used to make the beautiful Indian baskets. |
