The Camp Internet online campus is busy this week with class reports in the Web Quest area and new chat sessions comming up. Be sure you are receiving the weekly Briefing for your Camp track by email each monday.

Thanksgiving Studies web

Thanksgiving is one of the most important of our Harvest Ceremonies. In our Thanksgiving Studies unit we will explore Native American origins of Thanksgiving as well as harvest ceremonies brought over by the Pilgrims.

Our literature units will explore writtings by Pilgrims as they took part in the journey over and the first Thanksgiving.

Our Web Quest this week begins with essay and picture questions about the Thanksgiving studies unit.

Live Chat Session with Camp Internet's Director, Friday, from 6 to 8 pm. to answer questions, discuss ideas and work through any issues or problems you may be having as you bring Camp Internet to your students. The link to join in the chat session will always be on the Camp Internet home page, http://www.campinternet.net. If you can not attend this weeks chat session but have questions send them to me at rain@rain.org and I'll post the question and answer for you to review latter. The Chat sessions become part of our permanent library so they are always available.

The Global-Garden class has a new Fall project which makes use of the "Fall Leaf & Colors Field Report Form.

Channel Islands class
Last week we studied the role China may have had in discovering North America. This week in Channel Islands class we will look at the "World Around Sailors" of Polynesia.

Goto the new study unit on Polynesian Explorers in Channel Islands class to begin this weeks study.

New for Camp are the quiz units built into these 2 new Channel Islands study units. At the bottom of the Chnia and Polynesia study units are quiz, essay and picture exams. Be sure to have your students send them in.

The American History Class has a new unit on American Government.

Civics is an important part of American History. Gaining a full understanding of the origins and workings of our Nation's Government is essential for every student.

Ocean Studies Class
New Ocean Studies class with special video units. Check the interview with Dr. Childress, UCSB and the deep ocean worms he has brought back.


Homeschool Campus

The Homeschool class provides a good starting point for almost any classroom. With online projects guiding students into every part of Camp Internet the homeschool class provides a cross section of learning resources and exams which weaves together all the various parts of Camp Internet.
