Enhancing Education Through Technology

EETT Service Booklet

The new ESEA appropriations system is going to dramatically change District, Principal and Teacher access to Technology Professional Development Funds. If you are a Title I school or district, here is what it will mean for you.

The Technology Literacy Challenge and Technology Innovation Challenge Funds are being consolidated as one program called 'Enhancing Education Through Technology'.

These funds will be distributed as follows: 50% will go to State Education Agencies for competitive grants. The other 50% will go STRAIGHT to DISTRICTS with Title I students. Of that district amount, 25% MUST be spent on professional development to help teachers find ways to integrate technology into their curriculum. This means that 12.5% of ALL federal technology dollars will be required to be invested in TRAINING TEACHERS.
