History Focus

This week we begin the popular California Backcountry Artists section with its history of photography, painting and writers who explored the early 1850-1900 Backcountry. Launch your expedition from http://www.rain.org/campinternet/backcountry/railroads/turn-century.html .

Science Feature

Join us for the new Plant Community explorations that will be our focus into the Spring. Take a virtual field trip through different plant communities. Learn how Native Americans used plants for medicinal purposes. Collect data about the native plants in your own region and study where they fit into the overall California Plant Community.
