![]() for the week of May 7-11, 2001 Highlights : LIVE Teacher's Dig this week is presented by Brian Bartlett of Ridgeview School in Yucaipa and offers a look at the California Backcountry learning resources. Dig will be active May 8-11. We are wrapping up the Island history section this week, and preparing to move into studying the agencies and people who work to protect the Channel Islands and Marine areas today. Camp Internet visits Desert Sands District This week, Camp Internet is visiting the Desert Sands School District for an annual California Dept of Education meeting and to see the Student Tech Fair. Teachers Janet Gallatin and Lynda Bloomquist from Desert Sands have entries in the Fair this year that feature Camp Internet projects. Coming Up The annual CUE Conference is moving to Anaheim this year, May 17-19, at the Convention Center. Camp will have a booth on the exhibit floor and welcomes teachers to arrange time to showcase areas of the Camp program they enjoy the most. If you can drop by for 1-2 hours or more one of the exhibit days, Camp can provide you with a free exhibit pass for the full conference. We have passes for up to 5 teachers so please let us know if you can help out at the booth. CUE stands for Computer Using Educators and is one of the largest teacher tech organizations in the world. (www.cue.org) Camp Internet Star Teachers Janice Ross, Laurey Meier, and Brian Bartlett will be presenting a workshop at CUE on Friday the 18th, 11am - please send any teachers with questions about Camp to attend this fun CUE workshop. Camp Internet will also give away a full scholarship at the general session on the morning of the 18th. TEACHER'S INTERNET DIGS - if you have not yet posted your Dig, please select a date you would like to feature your Dig in May. Install it early one morning and we will feature it to the Camp community - and your class - for 2-3 days following. Send your requested dates to camp@rain.org.
