Highlights - Important Dig (25th) and Field Report (23rd) This Week :
This week we continue our investigation of the threats facing the Channel Islands today and some important decisions that are going to be made to protect the Channel. On Friday May 25th we will open the Student Dig room for a full day of exploration of the threats to animals, plants and habitat that the Channel Islands and marine areas now face. Come see what the dangers are AND learn about who is facing these dangers and trying to protect the Channel region.
Camp Explorers from Diane Bruns' class at Grandview in Rim of the world had an excellent trip out to Anacapa Island and are ready to report on it. Their field report day - in the Expedition Field Report Room - will be on Wednesday the 23rd - please have your students drop in a ask them questions and read their field reports so they can see how to create their own in the future. NOTE: this Expedition room is different than the Dig room - both are accessed from the main Camp page.
Classes in Action
This week we have FOUR classrooms heading out to Anacapa Island - two from Madison in Indio and two from Lake Arrowhead. Wish them good weather and a good crossing - we look forwards to seeing their field reports come online soon ! Bon voyage !
Art and Video Contest
We are reviewing the Art and Video Contest entries and all are wonderful ! Most have come in from the Channel Islands group and we thank you ! Look for results posted by June 1st.
TEACHER'S INTERNET DIGS - if you have not yet posted your Dig, please select a date you would like to feature your Dig in May or June. Install it early one morning and we will feature it to the Camp community - and your class - for 2-3 days following. Send your requested dates to camp@rain.org.
