Taking he MISSION DIG will help students learn more about these important monuments, and can encourage them to envision life as its was in these pre-statehood years in Alta California. And instructions on How to set Up Your Weather Station are available at http://www.rain.org/campinternet/channelhistory/meteorology/station-setup.html . We ask that you get your weather station set up as soon as possible, and then devise a method to have students take turn taking readings from the station - daily if possible, weekly at the least - and certainly for any day there is precipitation. Upcoming LIVE Chats Weather and Mapping LIVE CHATS - come into the Trial Guide Chat room on the 16th in the early morning to post advance questions and we will be bringing NASA spokespersons online live around 11:30 am during a meeting in Santa Barbara. Let' use this session to ask them about weather mapping and GIS. The Shipwrecks Chat will be great too - they have a new online interactive database to showcase so come see this exciting advent in Channel Islands maritime history ! Wednesday the 17th 9-11am - and you can see the database all day so come in for an afternoon view too. Following week - January 23rd - our annual National Weather Service chat will be held 9-11am so tune in for that too with your weather and weather forecasting questions. Teacher and Librarian Literature Tour Only a few days left for this online teacher training, we ask EVERY TEACHER to come into the Teacher's Chat room and take the Camp literature tour. If you have a school librarian, please invite them to also take the tour. They can access it by using the private adult-only log in of campdemo and the password islbcsw. If your school would like to participate in a grant application to the State Library to bring more camp and reading resources to your school, please send an email to camp@rain.org or note your interest in the chat room. Technology Literacy can BUILD English Literacy ! Open thru the 17th. Astronomy Training and Tour Thursday the 18th, Camp Internet is hosting a teacher training at Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria on the Remote Access Astronomy Project. Even if you can't attend live, you WILL be able to benefit online by going into the Teacher's Chat room from the 18th-21st to see what they will be learning in their session.
