INDIAN ISSUES

This week we offer your class a chance to look at the real impact western exploration and settlement had on Native Peoples. From the Top of California to the Southern Deserts, there were events, tragedies, and bold advocacy efforts that are very IMPORTANT part of California history.

We suggest dividing students into teams and doing the dig in small groups, giving each group an event to research. Santa Ynez Revolt, Ishi, Modoc Indian War, Helen Hunt Jackson's efforts, etc.

WE NEED YOUR FALL STUDENT FIELD REPORTS

Please remember to post student work in the Islands Field Report room to document their accomplishments during the Fall. We need these to have data to link to when viewers click on your school on the Camp GIS Map. If you need afterschool hours for posting, let us know so we can extend the room's available times.
