Romance of the Channel

In the last 100 years, writers, painters, film makers, musicians and artisans have explored the channel Islands and captured qualities of Channel life in their art or craft. They have each enjoyed the excitement of the Pacific ocean’s powerful surf, or have explored rugged untamed island landscapes. Many have chosen to make their home along the Channel to live close to its incredible beauty and powerful natural forces.

Let’s take a look at a few of the lives of the artists who have explored the Channel - the sea or the islands - and let’s see the Channel through some of the works they have created that celebrate this unique environment.
