Camp Internet
Distance Learning Project Explore the California Channel Islands - Program OverviewEach week, and sometimes each day, the Camp will be featuring a new subject area with special activity. Campers subscribed to the Camp will see the same introductory information provided free to any Internet viewer - plus - they will have members-only access to the in-depth Challenge Activities, expert Trail Guide mentors, Firesides Chats, Live Video streaming, and Camp Library - and other members-only activities. Participants will have the option to choose their level of interactivity with the program - they can join the Camp for daily learning activities, or once-a-week activities, or on a casual drop-in basis. Classrooms and formal academic settings are encouraged to get involved in the in-depth daily learning activities, and to follow the study unit sequence as closely as possible inorder to share findings with other classrooms and meet Trail Guide mentors for their scheduled online presentations. Libraries and afterschool programs may find once-a-week activities more suitable to the programs they host as informal education projects. Museums and science centers will probably find the once-a-week and drop-in programs beneficial programs. Families can get involved at any level. It is your choice - whether you participate daily, weekly or on an occasional basis - there will be interesting learning opportunities ahead.
