Distance Learning Project Sarah Fangman has been the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary (CINMS) Research Program Specialist since February. She has done research on a variety of topics including water quality, seabirds, marine mammals and most recently, the Sustainable Seas Expeditions. She came to the CINMS from the National Marine Fisheries Service's Northwest Fisheries Science Center, where she helped draft a report to Congress on the impacts of pinniped predation on salmonids. She also worked in the NMFS Office of Protected Resources Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program. Sarah graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Biology and earned her Masters at the University of Washington's School of Marine Affairs.
