Absences: If you are absent when an assignment is given, you must see Mrs. Pérez about making it up. If you are absent when an assignment is due or a test is given, you must turn in the work or take the test the day you return.
Extra Credit: Extra credit may be given for special assignments or projects.
Participation: You will earn two grades based on how well you participate. It is very important that you be in class every day because all the important stuff takes place there and there's no way you can make it up on your own. Everybody will learn more if we all learn from each other, so you need to participate and demonstrate your understanding of the material we are learning. Non-participation days are days when you're absent, tardy, unprepared or disruptive.
- 0 to 3 days = 2 E's
- 4 to 6 days = 2 S's
- 7 or more = 2 N's
Standards: The grades you earn for your assignments in this class are based on the Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking Standards for your grade level.
Totals: (at the end of the quarter)
- 90-100 = A
- 70-89 = B
- 50-69 = C
- 40-49 = D
- 39 or less = F
