Greek Mythology Unit
Objectives:
Using the classroom website Greek Mythology WebQuest page, TLWD further knowledge of Greek mythology by writing correct responses to two out of three activities and sending them via e-mail to the teacher.
Using the Character Map, TLWD the ability to synthesize ideas and information by cooperatively creating an Ancient Greek Scrapbook that might belong to that character with a minimum of 70% accuracy based on the criteria for the rubric.
During a presentation to the class, TLWD the ability to evaluate his/her work by explaining and justifying at least two items included in the group's completed Ancient Greek Scrapbook.
This week's time is dedicated to the completion of all four items on the Greek Mythology WebQuest page. The scrapbook itself is a time consuming project and students tend to get very enthusiastic and involved.
Day 1-3
Greek Mythology WebQuest
As many students as possible should complete the following via e-mail to the teacher:
- My Interesting Discovery
- Trivia Answer
- My Trivia Questions
Ancient Greek Scrapbook
This is to be completed as per instructions by all students in each group.
Day 4-5
Oral Presentation of Ancient Greek Scrapbook
Each group presents its scrapbook to the class by reading aloud any descriptions, passages, or articles and explaining the significance of each item to the character. Every group member must participate in the presentation. Use Rubric Grade Sheet to evaluate each presentation.
