Many of Mrs. Pérez's students had the opportunity to attend a performance by Robert "Tree" Cody on November 16th at the McCallum Theatre.

In support of their fellow Americans in New York, students wrote letters to fireman, rescue workers, volunteers, and friends and family of victims of the tragedy that occured on September 11th. Many students also included poems and drawings. The letters were sent to Nick News who promised to deliver them.
2001-2002 student Onomatopoeia, Simile, Metaphor, Personification, Hyperbole, Alliteration, and Haiku poetry is online in the Gallery.
