![]() On Friday, February 9, 2001 some of Mrs. Pérez's students visited the Palm Springs Desert Museum. They went to see a special exhibit of "Desert Volcanoes" about which they had recently studied. ![]() ![]() They learned about many kinds of volcanic rocks such as pumice and obsidian. ![]() They even experienced an erupting cinder volcano. ![]() This seismograph records earthquakes that often occur before a volcano erupts. ![]() While at the museum, the students also enjoyed viewing many different works of art. ![]() This blown glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly was a favorite. ![]() ![]() This is a molded glass sculpture. ![]() ![]() Here is another view of their favorite piece. ![]() How did the artist put this stone sculpture together? ![]() Here is a giant-sized artist's palette. ![]() This colorful sculpture is made out of metal. ![]() The students enjoyed their trip to the museum. ![]() |
