Task: Working in teams of four, use the links to learn more about Earth. Prepare a presentation project and report back to the class.

Process: Follow these steps to complete your project.

Steps
  1. Agree on a topic with your team members.
    • Changing Earth
    • Geography
    • Natural Disasters
    • Earth History
  2. Decide on a format for your project.
    • Large Poster (22" X 28")
    • Big Book (8 pages minimum)
    • Display Board (like a science project board)
    • Mural (6 ft. in length)
  3. Assign a job to each team member.
    • Writer: The writer makes labels for illustrations and writes short explanations or descriptions for each part of the project.
    • Illustrator: The illustrator draws and colors pictures for the project.
    • Researcher: The researcher looks for information about the chosen topic in books and on the Internet.
    • Project Director: The project director organizes the project and helps with writing, illustration, and research.
  4. Begin planning and research.
  5. Continue working until project is complete.
  6. Get your final project approved by Mrs. Pérez.
  7. Present your project to the class.


Guidance: Here are some questions to think about as you work on your project.

Questions
  1. Is every team member doing his/her job?
  2. Did you find all the information you can on your topic?
  3. Are your illustrations or pictures large and easy to see?
  4. Did you label everything clearly?
  5. Are all the words spelled correctly?
  6. Does every team member have a part in the presentation?

Conclusion: Discuss the following questions with your team members after you finish the project. Be prepared to discuss them with Mrs. Pérez.
