PegasusLet's travel a few thousand miles across the Atlantic Ocean to a group of islands located in the Aegean Sea to study the myths of the ancient Greeks. Follow the links below to learn about the famous Greek gods & goddesses as well as many of their mortal companions.

LyreNow you are ready to create an
Ancient Greek Scrapbook. Follow these steps:

Choose a Greek god, goddess, or hero found in Greek Gods and Heroes.

Use the book and the links above to research specific information about the god, goddess, or hero.

Take notes and complete the Character Map.

Based on your research and using the Character Map as an outline, create a SCRAPBOOK.

The items in your scrapbook should be creative and original.

All items must be neatly and securely attached to the pages.

Each one must include a label with an explanation of the importance of the item to the character.

Items must come from a variety of sources such as:

  1. scanned images from a book (limit 2 per group)
  2. images found on the Internet (copied and pasted into Word for printing)
  3. Word documents (articles, certificates, labels)
  4. Print Shop, Print Artist, or other graphics program (certificates, labels, titles)
  5. drawings (portraits, postcards)
  6. creations from paper or other material
  7. realia (yarn weavings, feathers, jewels, seeds, dried flowers, etc.)

This project will be evaluated with the Ancient Greek Scrapbook Rubric. Review it often as you work.

Due date: June 5, 2002.

Presentations: June 6-7, 2002.
