| 2 | Visit the Trail Guide web sites that we will be touring during the summer - you will | ||||||||||
| go to an average of 3 of theses sites determined by your subject track. | |||||||||||
| These field events are designed to allow you to gather data, images, drawings and | |||||||||||
| impressions as active observers. You will then come back to the computer lab and | |||||||||||
| construct an online field report, with images, to document your field learning. | |||||||||||
| This exercise will be repeated during the year with your classroom at least twice | |||||||||||

| 4 | Bring ample bottled water for indoor and outdoor use, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, walking shoes | ||||||||||
| and loose comfortable clothing. The group dinner is at a casual outdoor restaurant and if you | |||||||||||
| wish to change for dinner to casual evening clothes, bring with you that morning and the | |||||||||||
| Camp headquarters will provide a restroom area for changing, or you can return to the hotel. | |||||||||||
| 5 | If available, bring a portable computer and you will be provided with data ports in room and a | ||||||||||
| local dial account to get on the Internet. Evening hours are used for writing up a field report and | |||||||||||
| practicing new skills when a computer is available. Bring along a notebook and pencils and pens. | |||||||||||
| If you watercolor or sketch, bring along art supplies. Digital cameras are suggested. | |||||||||||
| 6 | When carpooling to field locations, teachers will work together to conserve resources by sharing | ||||||||||
| rides, so double check you car insurance in case you will be a driver. Teachers accept personal | |||||||||||
| responsibility for safety at all times. | |||||||||||
| 7 | COME WITH A SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE ! This is one of the most important qualities for an | ||||||||||
| educator to successfully meet the challenges of the training - and - translate these new skills | |||||||||||
