Classroom Rainforest

Tropical Rainforests - "There exists a world as lush and exotic as any that has flourieshed on earth - where the air is thick mist, where tree frogs sing, where fish walk onto land and flowers bloom as big as fruit trees. They cover scarcely 6 percent of the earth, yet tropical rainforests are home to half of all the living things on our planet.
But that home now is being destroyed faster than any other natural community on earth...If there is no change, by the end of this century, the new area of rainforest destroyed will be as big as one-third of the continental United States, and destroyed with it, up to 20 percent of all life on earth."

Camp Internet students, taking part in Classroom Rainforest, will learn what they can do to preserve this essential part of our planet's ecology, and how technologies like the Internet can help them do it.

Join Classroom Rainforest during the '97/'98 study year and take part in some amazing adventures down into the Forest. Classrooms, individual students and families are encouraged to take part.

The Classroom Rainforest project is part of the RAIN Network's Sustainability Project.

Let's get started by having you introduce yourself and your interests in the Rainforest.
