Plant you discovered: I discovered a plant called Rip Gut grass. They call it that because if an animal eats it, it will start to cut the animals guts. It’s just like rubbing a dogs fur the wrong way. If you do that it kind of pokes you. It’s just the same with Rip Gut grass. If you rube it the wrong way it pokes you.

We discovered different plants. Some are poison, some you can ever eat, and the plants come form different Countys. There was a plant called Lemon Bures they called it lemon bures . Because it taste like a lemon.

Animals you saw: I saw some funnel web spiders. They shape their webs in to an ice-cream cone shape. Their food gets caught and starts to move a lot. Making a little string at the bottom of the web tell the spider dinner is served.

the fennal plant is an introduced plant that is dangerous because it takes over the endemnic plants.there is a plant called the little ice plant which you can eat and it tastes like salt.There is also a plant called the mustard plant.It tastes like mustard,and is an ingrediant for making mustard. The wild apple plant's blossom looks like an apple then it's pod lookes like a banana and the seed lookes like a catapiller.

The plants we saw were crystal ice plant, cheese weed, Catalina Wild Apple, wild oat, bladderpod, Black muster, toyon, fennel, Prickly pear cactus, lemonade berry, lupins, Australian Salt Bush, California Blue Shist, Bush sunflower, Yarrow, horehound, goldenstar,Catalina live forever, Maraposa Lily, ripgut grass, and foxtail treat. The wild oats are what make your oatmeal, etc. They tasted like oats. Fennel tasted like black licorice, and smelled like it too. Ripgut grass will get caught in your stomach if you eat it. Then it will stay there and rip it up.

Today we went to the barge. We saw a naturalist feed the moray eels. Most of them were pretty big. They looked mean and scary with big sharp teeth. There were some kelp bass hanging around. They were trying to get some of fish that she was feeding the eels. There was a pretty brave sea gull who was also trying to get some fish. It was getting pretty close to the eels. I also got to go to the touch tanks. I saw crabs, fish, sea stars, sea slugs, sea snails, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and much more.

The animals we saw were sea cucumbers, starfish, keyhole limpits, white bass, black bass, moray eels, leopard sharks, gariboldi, Catalina ladybug, lobsters, sea urchins, sea hare, sea snails, hermit crabs, sea gulls, and flying fish. Flying fish can leap as high as 60 to 100 feet in the air! Keyhole lempits have a mouth that looks like a keyhole. Catalina Ladybugs have no spots.

Today we went to the touchtanks and we saw some sea slugs, snails, starfish, white sea bass, and a shark eggshell. Some plants we have seen are cheese weed, the crystal ice plant, wild cucumber, the Catalina wild apple, toyon (California Holly), Femmel, wild oats, prickly pear, lemon-aid berry, luper, euculyptus, the Austrailian salt bush, sage, California sagebrush, Tree tabaco, the golden star, foxtail cheat, the everlasting flower, the black mustard, and the rip gut grass. Other animals we saw were the Fummel web spider, a black widow, sea gulls, squirrls, barnicals, sea stars, sea urchins, lepard sharks, garibaldi, plankton, the lady bugs, the moray eels, lobsters and the sea bass.

We also entered the hyperbaric chamber. This is a chamber in which injured scubadivers recover in. In here, the pressures can be changed to match certain depths of the oceans. If a person has the bends, they can be placed into the hyperbaric chamber, and make the bubbles inside of them go away.

Yes,we have seen evidence of Native American tribes. All around us were 'garbage dumps.' The Native Americans which used to inhabit the island threw their food out on the ground. Also, underneath the garbage were indians which had been nuried there.
