How was the weather in the island compared to Lake Arrowhead?

Michael@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:14PM PST (-0800 GMT)
Anacapa was formed by the uplifting of land that was once underwater.

Wyatt@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:16PM PST (-0800 GMT)
The weather was very hot compared to up here in the mountains. It was a clear day and about 80 degrees while we were on our walk.

Abe@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:17PM PST (-0800 GMT)
The only person who lives on Anacapa is the park ranger. But there are lots of birds, plants, and bugs that live there too.

Abe, Joe, and Jose@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:19PM PST (-0800 GMT)
We saw lots of wildflowers. We saw the giant coreopsis. It had just bllomed, but the flowers were drying out. We saw lots of red iceplant.

Abe, Joe, and Jose@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:21PM PST (-0800 GMT)
We saw the park ranger's house, the lighthouse, the visitor's center, the water supply building, the outhouses, and the house where they store the batteries for electricity. The island runs on solar power.

Bruns class@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:23PM PST (-0800 GMT)
We saw jelly fish, sea lions, two grey whales, about 5000 common dolphins, and harbor seals. Some people think they saw a shark, and two flying fish.

Bruns class@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:24PM PST (-0800 GMT)
We saw lots of sea mammals...more than any other type of sea life. We saw whales, dolphins, harbor seals, and sea lions.

Erik and Jose@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:27PM PST (-0800 GMT)
We saw a huge pod of common dolphins. Cathy, our naturalist, said that there were several thousand in the group. They were jumping, surfing the wake of our boat, racing our boat, and some were doing something like a belly-flop.

Erik@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:29PM PST (-0800 GMT)
The trip was good. We went camping, and we got to see sea gulls and pelicans. I got to see a sea gulls's eggs. Thery're all brown with black spots. The mother gulls were like barking at us. They didn't move off their nests.

Wyatt@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:31PM PST (-0800 GMT)
My favorite animals were the sea lions and the dolphins. The sea lions were so lazy! they were just barking at us and laying down.

Michael@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:32PM PST (-0800 GMT)
My favorite animals that we saw were the dolphins and whales. The whales were spouting everywhere. It seemed like the dolhins were everywhere. Everywhere we looked they were there...the dolphins.

Wyatt@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:33PM PST (-0800 GMT)
When we got on the island, all the sea gulls were screaming but wouldn't come awaty from their nests.

Michael@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:34PM PST (-0800 GMT)
All the Channel Islands is a place where sharks lay their eggs. If we could've gone scuba diving, we might have seen great white sharks!

Matt@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:35PM PST (-0800 GMT)
The trip was really cool! I saw a shark, three jellyfish, 3000 dolphins, whales, and all that stuff. I almost barfed, but it was worth it.

Christian@Grandview: . . . . Wed, May 23, 2:39PM PST (-0800 GMT)
The trip was good. I saw lots of dolphins for the first time, and dolphins are my favorite animals. I took lots of pictures. I liked the islands.I'm glad I made the trip.
