LOCATION ------ Chaco Canyon is a remote sandstone canyon in New Mexico that is home to some of the most amazing ruins in the world – and – has a unique astronomical observatory sitting high up on an isolated butte that helped the Anasazi establish their yearly calendar, chart movements of the night sky and the sun, and coordinate their religions and agricultural activities. Turquoise and shell necklaces, rock art and ancient pottery has been discovered in Chaco Canyon, and there are still more mysteries to be explored … let’s DIG IN !
