Minor in possession of Alcohol


It is against the law for any person under the age of 21 years to have any alcoholic beverage in his or her possession on any street or highway or in any public place or in any place open to the public. Persons who receive tickets for this violation a nd either plead guilty to the violation or are found guilty by the Court or a jury will have their driver's license suspended for one year. If the minor does not have a driver's license, hos or her privilege to drive will be suspended for a year. This m eans that he or she will not be able to apply for a driver's license with the Department of Motor Vehicles during that time. The Judge may also fine any person who is guilty of this violation $135.
