Infant Safety Tips
Seven(7) to Nine(9) Months
old
Keep emergency numbers handy: know 911 and the
poison control center
number.
Never leave your baby alone with pets or small
children. Never leave your
baby alone in the car.
Put your baby in an infant car seat, facing the
rear of the car, for every ride.
Use electrical safety plugs. Keep electrical
cords and table cloths out of reach.
Burns: Turn water heater to less
than 120F (warm)
Place smoke detectors in the hallways
near bedrooms.
Falls: Use stair gates and
window guards.
Choking: Keep small objects and balloons away
from your baby. Keep
pillows out of your baby's bed. Remove
plastic wrap from mattress
Hearing Loss: Keep your baby away from loud
noises like vacuuming and
loud music.
Poisonings: Label and lock up medicines and
poisons. Have one ounce
Syrup of Ipecac on hand in case of
poisoning. Call poison center at 911
before using Ipecac. Never call
medicine "candy".
