Meet one of Camp Internet's Trail Guides - Krista
Fahy
Krista Fahy - Assistant Curator of Vertebrate Zoology.
Krista has been working at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History for 2
1/2 years since graduating from UCSB with a B.A. in Biological Sciences.
While focusing her studies on wildlife biology and field research, she has
gained experience working in a variety of habitats unique to the Santa
Barbara region. Her work in the Vertebrate Zoology Department at the museum
involves taking care of the array of birds, mammals, eggs, fish and bones
that are housed in the Museum's research collection. Aside from collection
care, Krista also spends a good deal of time working in the field on
research projects that aid in the understanding of the natural history of
our region. Through her work as a naturalist on fieldtrips and scientist
for the Los Marineros school group program, Krista also gets to share her
love for her profession through educating others about the concepts of
vertebrate biology. Whether she is working in the lab with historical
records, out on the islands documenting bird diversity, or on a boat in the
Santa Barbara Channel taking data on various cetacean species, Krista is
always thrilled to be given an opportunity to share knowledge and answer
questions about the animals of the Santa Barbara region.
This is Krista's Signature File for her E-Mail - it says a lot
Hear her cry,
Flight of the seabirds, scattered like lost words
Wheel to the storm and fly.
