May Day
We begin this week with a special look at May Day.
One of the oldest Agricultural Celebrations May Day gives us a chance
to look at cultures around the world and how they celebrate the
beginning of May.
This weeks study unit on May Day has history, cultural studies and
class activities.
If you create a May Pole or other May Day theme activity in your class

Our seeds are sprouting and we are beginning to transplant in the garden at

As we prepare the Camp garden setting up for bean TeePee's has been important.
There is a special unit on Bean TeePees in the Global-Garden Expedition
this week at

For all Mac classrooms. The GIS garden map is now viewable using Mac OS X. We've waited a long
time for the new OS to allow Mac computers to view and work with Internet Map Server maps and
now its here. Let us know if you have OS X running in your lab.

Remember we added 12 new Three Sister mounds to the Camp Internet garden
in March. We have been watering and now have corn, pumpkin, beans and
watermellon sprouting.

Continue your study of hydroponics. Camp Internet is looking for some innovative
ideas on the use of hydroponics. Can your class make a plan for space station
gardens or urban, big city gardens that uses hydroponics? Do you have some
special ideas yourself? Send us a one page essay and drawing of your idea.
The selected project will win a very special hydroponic unit for their classroom.
