The Neighborhood GreenNet is a collaborative project that engages families living in subsidized housing complexes in Santa Barbara in gardening projects combined with cutting edge computer technology. The project aims to reinforce the sense of family, by children and parents working on gardening projects together. Exposure to the computer technology provides the families with access to an infinite source of new markets, information, organizing and planning tools, and networking capabilities. GreenNet Project is funded through a grant from the US Department of Agriculture's CYFAR (Children Youth and Families at Risk) Initiative.
