Getting Set Up

The RAIN Network is working with the Green Net project to provide a free Internet account for you and every member of your family this year, free of charge, so you can access the Internet from any of our computers, and show your family the wonderful things you have discovered – and created – online.

First, lets get you set up with your own Internet account :

 

  1. Choose a User ID – this is what you use to log on to the Internet and to send and receive email. It is three to eight characters, usually your name. Let a GreenNet technical trainer set up the account for you by giving them your name, address, phone, and you chosend User ID :

  2. Choose a password, 6-8 characters, but don’t write it down here, keep it secret .. something you can easily remember .. it is your secret code for opening your Internet account.

  3. Now give this information to one of the RAIN people in the green Net project and they will get your account set up so you can be surfing the Net right away !

  4. Some simple rules to follow while working online – always be polite and courteous to who ever you write to, remember that although it is easy to send an email, it is a real message that may be read my many people and you want to represent yourself carefully, and intelligently online.
