Crater, Mars
NASA's first Mars Exploration Rover is scheduled
to land at Gusev Crater, 15 degrees south of Mars' equator, in
early January 2004.
According to NASA, the crater, which is believed to have held
a lake at one time, is a "scientifically compelling" site with
new data to collect.
