Greetings All,

As of today 8/1/10, new sighting data sheets have been placed in the CX CINC interp kit sightings binder (white notebook).

These new sighting sheets are combined for PID and marine mammal sighting use. That means the PID naturalists will be the designated data/sighting collectors. Other naturalists on duty will not need to take data unless there is no PIDer on board.

All sighting sheets will be stocked in the interp kit binder only, not the PID case blue binder which will only contain the PID manual and maintenance log sheets. All completed PID/sighting sheets are to be returned to and kept in the interp kit binder. (Reminder notes have been placed in both PID case and interp kit binders.) A clipboard has been added in the interp kit for easy writing use. Please do not leave the sightings binder up in wheelhouse. Use clipboard with sightings sheet, then return sheet to binder at end of trip.

As normal procedure, Friday volunteers please take the week's completed sheets to the SB Harbor CINMS office and place in the sightings envelope outside the office (on the shelf).

I hope these details make sense. If you have any PID questions or concerns, please contact PID Coordinator Joel Justin: j_bar_j at hotmail.com

Other CX Kit Info: The waterproof Eastern North Pacific Marine Mammal Guide is missing again. If you find it, please return. A new variety waterproof guide specifically re: humpbacks has been added to the CX/IPCO kits (donated to CINC by Catherine). Check it out next time on board.

More CINP newspapers will be put on board the CX next weekend.

Our kits are packed! Please remember to keep tidy so items will stay organized and in one piece, and please place blue whale baleen on top. Any IPCO kit questions contact Lisa @ mommasisa at gmail.com , CX kit deb4nb at aol.com. Thanks to those of you who let us know when items need to be replenished.

Best,
Debra
