Capt Dave told the full capacity crowd we were not going to SCI/Painted Cave
and that we were going straight out west to SMI where the whales had been
seen

It was 1 ½ hours each way and we got great looks and PID photos of 6 blue
whales of which 2 were newbies (less than 1 year)

I took lots of photos of the “little ones”  since we don’t know if these2
calves have been seen here in SB Channel before

1 of the calves was checking out the boat and circled us several times to
get good looks at us

25+ other whales were in the immediate area

The Islander was out there too so we each had plenty of whales to pick from
to visit

On the way out we saw about 500 Commons with 25% babies

The day was high clouds / fog all day the whole trip but the seas were
pretty calm even way out in the “120 zone”

Most of boat was overseas travelers: Holland, several families from France,
Germany, Spain with NY, IA,NE and some “local” SF/LA/SD area staycationers
