5 Mike Whales

300 Long Beaked Common Dolphins

300 Risso's Dolphins

40 Offshore Bottlenose Dolphins

1 Sea Otter

The Condor sailed with only 13 guests today. Cap'n Mat pushed eastward in
search of the grouping of Minke Whales which have been here for some time.
Before we got out very far up popped a young male Sea Sea Otter heading
East. We watched him for a while then headed off again in search of the
Minkes. Much to the guests delight he found them. While we logged only
five there were probably closer to ten but with the Minke's behavior it was
difficult to get a fix an an exact number. Then it was of to Anacapa
Island. Enroute we encountered the Long Beaked Common Dolphins. As we were
approaching Anacapa Mat announced he could see a pod of Dolphins ahead which
was a mixture of Offshore Bottlenose and Risso's . When we finally
approached the pod we could only see the Risso's and Mat began apologizing
for telling us the pod was a mixture. Before he could finish up popped a
few Bottlenose to ride the bow wake. The longer we hung out in that
location the more Bottlenose would show up until we had just a marvelous
mixed pod of the two Dolphin species. The Ocean was so smooth today that
there was absolutely no bump coming home fron Anacapa.

The crew today was Captain Mat, DJ and Brooke

Bart Francis, Hal Altman PID Cubby Winkel were on board as well
