500++ common dolphins amid a bird feeding frenzy

 

The first hump very close to shore (I was SO impressed with cpt. Mat and
Dave.then they later revealed the phone tip!)  This lone whale enjoyed the
kelp and had long breathing cycles, but did a few flukes. That was good
because the camera wasn't set to AF and I missed the first fluke.

 

We crossed the channel for a long and pretty drive along SCI and nosed into
painted cave. 

 

On the way back two more humps, just cruising with no flukes. 

 

Much better trip than expected as I was using wiper blades on my drive to
Santa Barbara.

 

Mostly foreigners from Netherlands, Germany, England and Denmark, just a
very small handful of people from the states including two reporters who
will come out with a piece early November in the Independent.
