[CINC] CX Wed. 9/8/10

Just returned from the CX with Marty Garey, apt Dave, Engineer DJ and Crewman 
Matt.  The count was 4 Blue whales north of SCI along with the IPCO Island 
Adventure. Also saw 30 Common ones and then later about 500 of them. 


The highlight of the trip was being with John Camambokidis of Cascadia Research 
when we sighted 3 of the four whales. He made it over to the CX and displayed 
the critter cam equipment and how they use it. He pulled alongside and gave a 
short talk to the passengers about his research. He looked impressive with his 
two crewmen and the little red motorboat as he chased after the whales to try 
and affix the device. After that we visited Painted Cave and got into it a good 
bit.

Very calm water and hardly any wind.

Satisfying trip...in our Paradise!
