Tina, For those who want to work up an appetite for the lobster  October 9th, there is a Environmental Defense Center Mission Creek cleanup project scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Mission Creek is the main creek with the outlet near Sterns Wharf, currently the focus of EDC efforts to restore the Steelhead Trout runs that were once common and plentiful.     Good afternoon, CINCers!  We are now accepting community outreach
    sign-ups for October.  Please send your request to me and I will add
    you to our
    calendar.  Here are the events for this month:

    

    ***Eco-Fair/Carnival
      "Green Walk"*** - October 2, Saturday, 1-
      4 p.m.

      Washington School, Santa Barbara

      Event attended by educators and families. Share information about
      sanctuary and park programs.

      

      ***Creek Week Wrap-Up Event*** - October 3, Sunday, 12 - 4 p.m.

      Watershed Resource Center, Santa Barbara

    This is a community
      celebration of the hard work and shared information from Creek
      Week, an annual event for our local creeks and ocean. Come and
      visit our sanctuary booth! 

    

      ***Santa Barbara Seafood Festival*** - October 9, Saturday, 10
      a.m. - 5 p.m.

      + R/V Shearwater dockside tours

    Celebrate the
      opening of commercial lobster season (early October)! The festival
      showcases a variety of delicious regional seafood specialties, and
      offers children’s activities, boat rides, cooking demonstrations,
      and maritime education.

    

      ***La Patera School Science Night*** - October 28, Thursday, 5:30
      - 8 p.m.
