What a beautiful day on the water on the Condor Express. Here are the facts:
9:00 a.m. trip: 11 humpbacks mid channel due south of Santa Barbara Harbor.
2 Dall's porpoise seen by Capt. Matt, but most of us didn't get the glimps.
Noon trip: 12 humpbacks, some really, really big ones with plenty of fluking and one very nice breech.
No grays, no dolphins, very few birds.
Detail: Tom Boyd and Pam Yerger of the Humpback Pod, joined me on the trips. They observed and asked questions and helped out with carrying props for Carolyn McClesky (PID) and I. Then, they got a chance at doing some sighting reports and did well. It was a beautiful warm day with calm seas and too many whales spouting to sight them all.
Passengers from Holland, Thailand, Texas and even Santa Barbara. Capt. Matt, Dennis and Matt working the boat, it was great.
Sincerely,
Catherine French
