Just like the MarineTraffic Services http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/
for your computer now for your smart phone. Love this app!

Real-time ships positions based on Automatic Identification System
(AIS). Watch the positions reported by more than 35000 vessels per day
on an interactive Google map.
The application provides worldwide coverage of more than 850 ports and
a significant number of open-sea areas.
Port arrivals and departures are recorded in real-time. Search for
port statistics, vessel details, historical data and estimated time of
arrivals.
Personalized services are recently added. Maintain your list of
vessels (My Fleet) which is available on both the mobile and the web
version. See your location and what targets are near you.
