Hello Naturalists:
Sightings:
800 Common Dolphins (Group of 300 and 500)
10 Blue Whales
5 Humpback Whales
Numerous Spouts

2-3 foot swells, beaufort 4-5 conditions, a 100 plus boat of mostly international visitors (Argentina, India, Italy, England, France, etc represented) and  a few US/local visitors. We all commented that it was a particularly enthusiastic group of whale watchers.  Following a very successful Saturday all- day charter, Capt Mat headed out to the same area. The whales had moved west toward in front of San Miguel (12 miles away) and we traveled 30 miles. We had very clear views of Santa Rosa and then San Miguel Island. Hope I got this all right!

We had a "friendly approach" by a single humpback that went under the boat several times and then surfaced upside down right next to the boat and really put on quite a show for quite some time popping up close to the boat in various locations. It fluked, and then did it again in a slightly different location after it surfaced after its deeper dive.

Crew: Capt Mat, Dennis and Brooke
Naturalists: Kevin Bailey, Vivi Teston, and Laura Shelton

Have a great week. The calendar has been full of openings for PID and Non PID naturalist positions.
If anyone has not gotten trips, email me as I have taken advantage of a lot of openings.
