Thanks Judy,
Good stuff! But I think the key you reflect upon is the "asking questions" part, whether it is on the way home or on the trail. Multi media, and its encouraging multi tasking, too often short changes effort at making connections, and then seeing the bigger picture. Many experts, who started our new age, agree that far too many of the new generation shy away from "getting on the boat, or getting on the trail" where questions can be focused on real people and a real issue- "seeking connections." The challenge is to get them out there first, and get those questions coming, would you agree? Pau;l

Sometimes only older people end up at the end of the trail in my hiking groups, however younger ones do ask questions on the ride home. So, this explains the multimedia, multi tasking generation who grew up with the internet always available. Sometimes even the 5th graders have smart phones! So our talks need to give them more then info on the web because they have probably already seen that. Check it outhttp://www.npr.org/2011/07/14/137853462/rethinking-how-we-teach-the-net-generation
