Hello Naturalist,
Last Wednesday eve at El Capitan State Beach and Saturday night at Carpinteria State Beach, Tara Brown and myself presented the simulated whale watch trip again to interested campers. We averaged 50+ attending for the two presentations titled " Marine Mammals of the CINP and CINMS." Many in the audience at both presentations had seen Bottle Nose dolphin close to the beaches , as well as sea lions, during the day.
We closed with the video clip of the rejuvenated Chumash Tomol crossings, and Tara wowed the audiences with the Rainbow Bridge story. Near by to both presentations were the sites of Chumash villages of old. And, as usual, the whale kit and its contents became a big attraction at the end; including information on how to get to the CINP in something other than a Tomol. "I sari wa", Paul
