Over the years I have had the good fortune to lead hikes on the Channel Islands with special groups that have been organized by Laura Francis from the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. Just recently, we took a small group of Congressional staffers on the Prisoner to Pelican hike on Santa Cruz Island. The article referenced here, is about how Laura became involved in being a steward of the oceans and her love and commitment to sharing her knowledge and special talents with others.
