Hi CINC,
Yipee, the grays pilgrimage south seems to have begun in earnest...some speculate they might be pregnant and anxious.
2 more gray whales today (Tues, Dec 13), about 1020 AM Islander just off Scorpion, 20 minutes after ~ 300 common dolphins. Quite a day, although returning in the PM we didn't see any more grays but did see that the ~300 common dolphins from 1000 AM had become ~1000.
Quite a privilege to bear witness.

Hi all,
Today at 1100 the Ocean Ranger crossed paths with two southbound gray whales. Just casually swimming together in the gap between SCI and SRI. Light wind, calm seas and mostly clear sky made for a pretty good look.
