I’m beginning to think I’m bad luck getting visitors on Anacapa. Two weeks ago we headed out and couldn’t land due to the strong NE winds. Today was a repeat. We got a nice north shore wildlife cruise expertly narrated by Capt. Jason. Then on the way home heading INTO very choppy seas, we saw the first 2 or 3 gray whales of the season for the Vanguard. Due to the seas, all we could really see was their blows and one fluke at a distance. Still a delight for the ~20 passengers. Also of interest, as we were passing Gina, we were quickly run down by the USS Paul F. Foster (DD-964). Man can that big boat fly. But we beat it into Channel Islands Harbor as it had to wait for the Port Hueneme harbor pilot to arrive and board. It was neat seeing a Navy ship that close.

Happy Holidays everyone!!
