Highlights of the fun filled 12/17 trip:
1 gray whale feeding near the surface with an occasional fluke showing
10 Risso dolphins feeding near the boat
A pod of 1000 common dolphins
A 7yr old junior naturalist with alot of questions and curiosity.
Partly cloudy skies with scale-like ripples changed to larger wavelets and cloud
cover as the trip progressed. However, the 16 passengers from Italy,
Netherlands,
Florida were thrilled with marinelife sightings and the course
diversion to the gap
between Santa Rosa and Santa Cruz. The shoreline views of Santa Cruz,
especially
the Painted Cave also delighted passengers.
Many thanks to Captains Matt and Dave, Bob, and Matt for a delightful
cruise. Also
special thanks to PID Morgan for her helpful tips and marine mammal insights.
