[CINC] Ranger 85 Saturday 1/8

AM trip canceled.
 
Seven Grays, two were huge.   Seas were  moderate to calm.
 
Twelve adults and eight well behaved children who  were celebrating a 
birthday.
 
Captain Frank spotted several spouts and headed to  the east side of Santa 
Cruz.
 
As the boat got closer to the whales, he turned to  the left and had seven 
whales in front of the boat.
 
We could see that three of the whales were very  large.   One of the large 
whales headed to the inside of  Anacapa.   We stayed with the six that was 
on the backside of the  island.    Captain Frank stated that he had not seen  
Gray Whales of this size with such large girth and  flukes.
 
All the people were local to the county and had a  great time.
 
The Sunday trips were canceled.
