[CINC] Friday 1-14 IPCO Islander

Today's sightings:

2 gray whales from Scorpian Anchorage
5 gray whales from Cavern Point
12 gray whales in the gap between Anacapa and Scorpian
18 bottle nose dolphin in the gap (one of the largest pods I have seen!)
1 island fox
1 salamander

Despite the wind advisory, it turned out to be an incredible day.   The trails 
are still a bit muddy, and the road to Smugglers may need some work, but Santa 
Cruz Island is green and blooming!

I am proud to announce there are three new Junior Rangers - Maggie, Mattie, and 
Natalie who came with the parents who have the vision to take their children to 
every national park in the nation while they are growing up.  Each girl signed 
the visitor's register herself, and I proudly gave them a stamp for the 
passports!  (They already had their badges from Joshua tree --- their first 
stop.  Three more this year in Florida!)
