[CINC] changing roles

Some of you were not able to attend last nights meeting so I wanted to
follow up in email about one of the topics discussed last night.

   As some of you know, over the years in addition to my role with the
   naturalist corps I have worked on and managed several projects here at
   the park. Recently, I have been given quite a few more projects to work
   on including a new ocean film, new tower/stairwell exhibits and kids
   outdoor exhibit area for the visitor center, redesigning and replacing
   every sign in the park, and eventually, new exhibits for Anacapa visitor
   center and lighthouse and for Santa Rosa Island as well. While these are
   all wonderful projects to work on, they do come at a cost. I regret to
   inform you that due to these new projects as well as other work duties I
   will no longer be able to maintain my role in the naturalist corps.

   I will miss this wonderful program and all of you. Thank you for giving
   me so many enjoyable years. It’s been a real pleasure working with all
   of you. The corps has truly become the public face of the sanctuary and
   park. Without your dedication and support there would be very little
   personal interpretation on the islands and boats. I cannot thank you
   enough for this incredible contribution.

   The good news is that you will be left in very, very good hands. David
   Begun, former island volunteer extraordinaire, and now park staff, will
   be taking my place as the park representative with the naturalist corps
   and will be overseeing the island hike portion of the program. David, as
   many of you know, is an incredible resource, extremely knowledgeable
   about island resources and operations and since he was a volunteer for
   over 15 years, has a great understanding of the volunteer program as
   well. He will be great asset to the program and I know you all will
   enjoy working with him very much as I have over the years.

   David will be contacting you shortly via email with his contact
   information. All island related questions should go directly to David at
   this point.
